They stop spawning when the season ends, but you keep the ones you have.

COMING starts Wed, Nov 4, 00:00 UTC, in Nov 4

5 LIMITED Winter blobs on the Blob Road, only during the season. Their names are revealed when it starts.
The Blizzard event: Winter blobs spawn far more often, and Frozen mutations are 2x likelier.
Limited blobs are yours to keep forever, but they stop spawning when the season ends.

Each season brings its own LIMITED rarity, a season event and a new look for the lobby. It switches on and off by itself, even in servers that are already running.
Limited blobs only spawn on the Blob Road while their season runs, and much more often during the season event.
You keep them forever. After the season they're trade-only, so they're worth holding on to (trade calculator).
A new blob also drops every Friday, outside the seasons (updates).
